I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of love (fall in love synonym) and happiness. I know I’ve been AWOL for the past few weeks, due to the continuous protest action on campus and the postponement of exams, as a result I haven’t had much time (race against time phrase) to blog.
Onto this week’s post, I decided to style a retro fawn suede button front skirt. This look was inspired by a few of my favourite style icons like Alexa Chung, Taylor Swift and Lilly Collins. I’ve seen this suede button front skirt worn by so many of my peers on campus and this inspired me to purchase and style it in my very own unique way. I always encourage people, especially those aspiring to be fashionable and chic to always add their personal touch to any latest fashion trend or style. This is what I aimed to do with this ensemble.
Personally, I am not a skirt kind of girl; I will do anything and everything not to show of my legs. But this trend got me going against my personal preferences.
The 70’s are back and although this button front skirt was more of a spring fashion trend, it is versatile and can be worn this summer.
If you’re going for a mini skirt like I did, I would suggest keeping your shoe choices fairly low to the ground. The shoe I wore had a kitten heel. But one could opt for an ankle boot or a loafer. Lastly, I matched the ensemble with a black suede tassel bag, an off the shoulder black top (which I wore on my shoulder) and a black floppy hat. I kept my jewellery choices quiet simple by wearing a gold diamanté ring because I didn’t want to overcrowd the look with heavy jewellery.
